How Attachment Compatibility Works With Bobcat Machines

Not every attachment fits every machine — compatibility depends on a few mechanical factors, not just the machine's size.

What determines compatibility

• Mounting plate — Bobcat uses a standardized quick-attach mounting system, but the plate size/class still needs to match between the machine and the attachment.
• Hydraulic flow — attachments with moving parts (augers, breakers, mowers, sweepers) need a minimum hydraulic flow (measured in l/min) from the machine to run at full power. A machine with too little flow will run the attachment slowly or not at all.
• Lift capacity and weight — heavier attachments (pallet forks with a full load, larger buckets) need enough rated operating capacity from the machine to lift and carry safely.
• Auxiliary hydraulics type — standard-flow vs. high-flow circuits matter for attachments designed to use more power (mulchers, cold planers, some augers).

Why this matters before you buy

Buying the wrong combination usually shows up as an attachment that "technically fits" the mounting plate but runs underpowered, or a machine that can lift the attachment empty but not with a full load. Both are common, avoidable mistakes.
