The table combines manufacturers' data and measurements from Bobcat's comparison tests (09-2025).
The E16 R2 comes with the short arm only; the ET16 has an optional long arm (+160 mm). Neither machine has a counterweight option. The heavy ET16 configuration (1,720 kg) includes cab, long arm and expandable undercarriage.
— means the manufacturer does not publish this figure.
Both machines pass a 1 m gate (980 / 990 mm). On site the E16 R2 widens its tracks to 1,360 mm as standard; a standard ET16 stays at 990 mm.
Calculation: 1,360 − 990 = 370 mm wider stance
The machine travels along the ditch while the mower runs and the arm follows the bank — travel, auxiliary flow and arm movement at the same time. In Bobcat's test the E16 R2 ran all three together; on the ET16 the machine drifted off straight travel and slowed down when other functions were used.
On the E16 R2 both side windows open and four vents cover the glass and the cab. On the ET16 the side windows do not open, and two vents under the seat ventilate the cab.
To slew without touching a wall or fence, the tracks must stand at least the tail overhang away from it: 34 cm for the E16 R2, 43 cm for the ET16.
Calculation: tail overhang 344 / 425 mm
Measurements and notes come from Bobcat's comparison tests (09-2025), in which both machines did the same jobs. These figures are not in the manufacturers' brochures. “Operator's opinion” is the personal impression of the operator who worked in the test: it is subjective, and your experience may differ.
What it affects: Shared parts across models mean fewer different spare parts to keep for a mixed fleet.
Operator's opinionsubjectiveThe machine stayed steady when slewing.
Operator's opinionsubjectiveThe machine rocked more when slewing, and its digging result trailed the other machines in the test despite the larger engine.
What it affects: Undercarriage length and tail overhang decide how steady the machine stays when slewing with a load.

What it affects: Combined movements matter for attachments that need travel and auxiliary flow together, such as a flail mower.

What it affects: Auto-idle lowers the engine speed during pauses, which reduces fuel consumption and noise.
