There's no other compact excavator that offers the innovative controls, robust abilities, & cabin comfort of the new Bobcat E50z.
See how the strongest digging excavators can improve your work performance.
An exceptional combination of signature Bobcat high performance, best-in-class controllability and intuitive controls now meets a state-of-the-art hydraulic system for unmatched precision and reduced fuel consumption. Bobcat® compact excavators give you perfect control of the boom, arm and bucket, even in the most challenging work environments. Having confidence in this control and your precise movements enables you to complete the job using your machine, instead of doing it with manual labour. This predictable control is delivered through exclusive control valve systems and torque-limiting piston pumps that match force with demand.
The new Bobcat Automatic Track Tensioning System (ATTS) uses the machine’s hydraulic system pressure to ensure proper track tension at all times to fit the conditions the machine operates in. This makes work more efficient and saves money and time. Moreover, correctly set track tension leads to longer track life.
The R2-Series machines have been designed to achieve superior 360-degree stability in any situation, even when digging over-side or handling heavier loads. Improved counterweight design and dual flange rollers guarantee superb over-side stability and the operator’s confidence in all situations.
Time-proven Bobcat D18 and D24 engines are used in thousands of Bobcat machines worldwide - now in a new Stage V compliant version with improved performance characteristics.
With state-of-the-art technology – such as the latest generation main control valve, dual curve joysticks, and proportional thumb-controlled boom swing offset – combined with Bobcat’s traditional high performance, these excavators feel like an extension of the operator’s hands as he commands the controls.
More standard comfort features make tackling hard work easier.
Enjoy ample space and leg room inside the cab, ergonomic interior design, easy access to critical controls, and optional comfort features such as a heated seat with high back and head rest.
Best-in-class panoramic visibility is the key to working precisely and safely. Thanks to unsurpassed visibility from the cab – with narrow but solid pillars – the operator is fully aware of the working area around the machine. Features such as powerful demisting, LED lights, wiper with intermittent function, and heated rear window ensure that visibility remains uncompromised in all circumstances.
See and control everything important on the 5-inch display which comes as standard. Optional 7-inch touch screen with Bluetooth, hands-free calling and media streaming. Automatically switches to Dark Mode in low light. Both are ready to be connected to a rear-view camera.
Intelligently designed components keep you working on the jobsite.
Do you frequently work in confined areas, close to objects, or against a wall? On models with minimal and conventional tail swing, the rear of the house protrudes beyond the width of the tracks. To avoid this restriction and give yourself the greatest flexibility, choose a zero tail-swing model; the rear of the house stays within the width of the tracks through full rotation. With zero tail swing, you rotate and deposit soil where you need it, reposition the machine fewer times, and worry less about accidentally striking any surrounding objects. The design of Bobcat machines also eliminates the ‘unicorn’ effect of having the boom swing cylinder exposed during offset parallel digging, reducing the risk of damage to the surrounding objects as well as to the cylinder itself. Zero House Swing and Zero Tail Swing concepts prevent collisions and minimize the risk of damage - so, less machine downtime.
For more accurate placement of your load, the integrated slew brakes hold the machine steady on slopes. This makes it easier to load the machine, and you no longer need to manually engage the slew brakes during transport.

The industry leader in attachments and attachment-ready features.
Excellent tool carriers: up to 5 arm-mounted hydraulic auxiliary lines and award-winning A-SAC technology (Advanced Selectable Auxiliary Control) enable a wide range of machine customizations to match any attachment requirement.
Machines in one range are compared against each other — these are the four figures the choice usually comes down to.
A compact, light and affordable machine in the 4–6 t range: a surprising amount of power with Zero House Swing.

The design decisions that determine where the machine can work and what you can hang on it.
An extension of zero tail swing: the front corners of the upper structure are brought inside the swing circle too, and the boom swing cylinder does not protrude when digging parallel to a wall. In practice the machine works right up against obstacles — in backyards, in urban areas and anywhere a bigger machine simply will not fit.
A flow-sharing main control valve with a load-sensing pump: pressure and flow go exactly where they are needed. Hence fast cycle times with smooth control. Boom and dipper stick cylinder cushioning — unique in this class — removes the shock at the end of travel.
The Selectable Auxiliary Control (SAC) system lets you customise the control pattern for a given attachment and switch the lines between boom and arm; it is an integral part of the AUX4 option. Geith, Klac and Lehnhoff hydraulic couplers are supported, Lehnhoff with optional tilting adapters.
The whole range side by side — you can see what each step up actually buys.
